I'm Maddox. I build websites for people who don't want to think about websites.
I started Byrd Web Studio because I kept watching great local businesses — the ones I actually want to eat at, get haircuts at, hire — lose customers to competitors with objectively worse services and objectively better websites.
It's one person, on purpose. No account manager, no discovery pipeline, no five-figure retainer. Just me, writing code, answering emails, and shipping sites.
If that sounds refreshing, we'll probably get along.

Five things I believe.
A website is a promise
If your site is slow or ugly, people assume the business is too. It shouldn't be that way, but it is.
Templates are a tax on small businesses
You pay monthly forever, and the site never actually fits. I'd rather build it right, once.
You should own your work
The code, the domain, the content. If we ever part ways, you walk with everything.
Pricing should be public
Hiding prices behind ‘contact us’ is a game I don't want to play. Numbers are on the pricing page.
Fast is a feature
A site that loads in 4 seconds loses about half its visitors. Speed is design, not an afterthought.
